Veteran Italian singer Fred Buongusto has died aged 84 years.
Buongusto, whose health had deteriorated in these last months, died during the night between Thursday and Friday in his residence in Rome
Buongusto was born on the 6th April 1935 in Campobasso and his real name was Alfredo Antonio Carlo Buongusto.
He became very popular in the 1960’s and 70’s with hits like “Malaga”, “Una rotonda sul mare”, “Spaghetti a Detroit” and “Prima c’eri tu”,
His funeral is scheduled to take place next Monday in the Basilica di Santa Maria in Montesanto in Rome.
