The favourable weather conditions have reopened the emergency landings with several episodes in the last twenty-four hours. The coast guard intercepted a sailboat carrying 61 men, all men, near the shores of Portopalo di Capo Passero (Syracuse). Seventy migrants have landed on the beach of Capo Bruzzano, in the territory of Africo (Reggio Calabria). Even in this case the migrants, of various nationalities and apparently in good health, were on board a sailboat that ran aground.

The landing near Portopalo of 61 people rescued in the Syracusan who are of Pakistani nationality. The authorities claimed to have paid 5 thousand euros for the crossing and to have left Saturday night from Turkey. Now they have been transferred to the Augusta first tent camps. The two smugglers, who managed to escape with a dinghy, are missing the call.
The rescued in the Reggino – On the landing site in Reggino the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Bianco intervened and the policemen of the Commissariat of Bovalino who tracked all the non-EU citizens who were on board the boat. Migrants are now waiting to be hosted in reception facilities. A part of them will probably be hosted in Roccella Ionica.
In international waters –The third episode occurred in international waters. One hundred and forty-two people were rescued by the Aquarius ship of Doctors without Borders, off the Libyan coast. To receive assistance was an overcrowded wooden boat with men, women and children on board, including 67 unaccompanied minors coming mainly from Somalia and Eritrea.
