Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited US President Trump to new talks in Paris next month amid talks with U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton over an arms control treaty. Euronews

Earlier U.S. national-security adviser John Bolton held talks with Russia’s defense minister ahead of the meeting he held with President Vladimir Putin  amid tension over President Donald Trump’s warning that Washington will pull out of a landmark nuclear arms treaty with Moscow.

Russia repeated its criticism of the promised U.S. pullout, with Putin’s spokesman saying on October 23 that “there are weak points” in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty but that “tearing up the agreement without plans for anything new is what we don’t welcome.” In talks the previous day with his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, and a dinner with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, he said he discussed U.S. plans for withdrawal from the 1987 treaty, among other issues.
