The Malta Independent speaks to Council of Europe special rapporteur Pieter Omtzigt after the CoE rejected amendments sought by the government to the Malta country report. Omtzigt urged the government to implement recommendations by the Venice Commission.

The Malta Independent also reports that Nationalist MP David Stellini has resigned his seat to return to his job in Brussels. The party said its Executive Council will co-opt a new MP in the coming days.
