Malta: Tourism industry looking at five-year recovery period

The Times quotes an EY survey among hotel executives which shows that the industry is generally looking at 2020 as a loss-making year. Hoteliers say that tourism will take up to five years to fully recover from the effects of the pandemic.

The paper claims that the Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli, George Bugeja, is expected to be ordained bishop of Gozo in the coming weeks. The 57-year-old from Xagħra was in Malta when the pandemic broke out and was unable to return to Libya.
