Malta: GWU marks 1958 general strike

L-Orizzont leads with the commemoration of the April 1958 general strike by the General Worker Union. Josef Bugeja, secretary general of the GWU said that the nation is, once again, being asked to rise to the occasion.

Another story quotes Public Health Superintendent Charmaine Gauci who said that, while the number of cases in Malta is lower than international trends, the country does not afford to lose control of the situation and relax measures.

The paper publishes an interview with Hassan Akkad from Syria who is volunteering his time to work as a hospital cleaner during the pandemic. Akkad said that immigrants are contributing to the county without expecting any recognition.
