Libya seeks Italian cooperation in educational sector
Italy is exploring a greater role in strengthening the Libyan educational sector with the possibility of including the Italian language in the school curriculum as an optional language.
These topics were discussed in a meeting between the Libyan Minister of Education, Othman Abdul Jalil and the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi as a means to enhance cooperation and partnership between the two countries in the field of education.
The meeting, which was held at the ministry’s HQ in Tripoli, addressed the possibility of including the Italian language in the school curriculum as an optional language, as well as training staff members of the Italian language department in the Libyan universities and providing books and educational materials.
The two sides also considered ways to activate the friendship agreement between the two countries in the field of scholarships for Libyan students and facilitate their procedures.
