IIP applicants decrease by almost 6%: The Headlines – The Malta Business Weekly

The Malta Business Weekly reports that applications for Malta’s Individual Investor Programme fell by almost six percent between July 2018 and June 2019, compared to the previous year.

The Malta Business Weekly speaks to Immanuel Grima, owner of a grove of native Maltese olive trees. Grima said that the Bidni olive variety produces less oil because of its early harvest, but it has a unique and valued flavour.

The Malta Business Weekly says that democracy ratings fell on a global scale in 2019 dropping from a score of 5.48 to 5.44 worldwide. Malta, meanwhile, slipped into ‘flawed democracy’ territory for the first time.
