L-Orizzont says that the government described rumours about the Prime Minister’s imminent resignation as ‘pure invention’. In a statement on Friday the government denied that ministers expressed mistrust in Joseph Muscat at a cabinet meeting on Thursday night.
The paper carries an appeal by the General Workers Union for the political class and civil society to exercise caution and prudence during these ‘sensitive and delicate’ times. The union calls on players to allow the institutions to do their work.
Another article quotes figures by the National Statistics Office which report a surplus of €10 million in the national consolidated fund by October. The paper says this registers an increase of €34 million over the same period last year.
