Main suspect of Hanau shooting where nine were killed and five injured, found dead

One of the suspects of the mass shooting was found dead at his father’s home in Hanau. The police also found another body at the location.

On Wednesday, the Police in Germany have launched a manhunt after the shooting in Hanau, near the city of Frankfurt..

The motive behind the shootings was not immediately clear.

The shootings took place at approximately 10 p.m. local time (2000 GMT/UTC) at two shisha bars in different parts of the city, according to local media.

Regional public broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk reported without citing sources that the shootings took place in two hookah lounges, the AP and Times reported.

The perpetrators reportedly opened fire at the first shisha bar in Hanau’s downtown, killing three people. They then drove to the neighborhood of Kesselstadt and opened fire at the second shisha bar, where five people died.

After the shooting the police provided a short statement obtained by the AP that gave no information on the victims and said the attackers’ motives was not immediately clear. Officials have said a dark vehicle was seen leaving the location of the first shooting, and a second shooting was reported at another location, The New York Times and AP reported.

After launching a major manhunt, 

The motive for the shooting is unclear.
