COVID crisis to cause 500,000 jobs losses in Italy in 2020

The COVID crisis will lead to the loss of 500,000 jobs in 2020, government employment policy agency ANPAL said.

Some 250,000 jobs will be lost in 2021, it said.

Italy will only return to its pre-epidemic employment level of 23.4 million workers in 2023, ANPAL President Mimmo Parisi told the Senate labour committee.
