Commonwealth war cemetery in Netherlands daubed with graffiti and swastikas
Dutch police are investigating the act of vandalism in which unknown attackers daubed the war memorial graves, walls and the chapel with graffiti at the British and Commonwealth WWII war grave cemetery in Mierlo, the Netherlands.
Among other things, reports state that a large swastika has been painted on the inner wall of the chapel. The cemetery contains 665 fallen service personnel; 664 are Commonwealth soldiers (seven unidentified) and one Dutch grave (of G.M. Stönner of the Princess Irene Brigade).
