Bridge collapses in Taiwan, leaving 10 people injured, 2 dead

Photos made available by the Taiwan Military News Agency shows rescuers searching for victims near the collapsed Nanfangao Cross-Port Bridge in Nanfangao, Yilan County, north-eastern Taiwan.

The arch bridge collapsed on 01 October 2019 after an oil tanker crossed onto the bridge.

The structural failure caused the tanker to fall into the waterway and ignite.

The accident left 10 people injured, including the tanker driver, at least two people dead and four missing.
