Jo Johnson hints more ministers are ready to resign over May’s Brexit deal

Former transport minister Jo Johnson has hinted more ministers could be ready to resign over the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal.

The remain-supporting brother of Boris Johnson, whose bombshell resignation took Westminster by surprise on Friday afternoon, said if other senior Conservatives followed suit, “good on them”.

The Telegraph reports that Downing Street had hoped Mr Johnson could coax fellow Tory Europhiles into supporting the withdrawal agreement – which Mrs May wants to finalise this week.

But now there are fears more high profile ministers could follow the Johnson brothers out of the door.
