Scenes from the aftermath of Typhoon Hagibis in Japan. According to media reports, at least 40 people died, more than 180 people were injured and at least 16 went missing as the typhoon made landfall in Japan.

Hagibis, the strongest typhoon recorded this season, forced the suspension of many Japan railway services all over the country. About 1,600 domestic and international flights were cancelled.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency issued evacuation order for more than four million people and more than 110,000 people are taking part in search and rescue operations.
